The Role
We are seeking an experienced and motivated Sous Chef to join our Golden Avenue team. We are looking for people who have a passion for the culinary landscape and showcasing our wonderful produce in an authentic way. This role at Golden Avenue will provide diversity across services, collaborations and events working alongside likeminded chefs who challenge each other to grow as a team. In this hands-on leadership role, you will support the Head Chef in overseeing day-to-day kitchen operations, managing service, and driving consistency in food quality and presentation. You will play a key role in mentoring junior chefs, improving kitchen procedures, and contributing to a strong and respectful kitchen culture. The ideal candidate will bring a calm, professional approach and a passion for delivering high-quality dining experiences.
- Experience as a Sous Chef or Senior Chef de Partie within high-volume or multi-section kitchens
- Experience working in larger kitchen brigades with structured operations and service flows
- Familiarity cooking with Middle Eastern cooking is highly regarded
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to guide, train, and support a team during both prep and service
- Clear communication style and collaborative approach to working with the front-of-house team
- Excellent standards in food quality, portioning, and presentation
- Good understanding of inventory management, ordering, and maintaining cost control
- A positive and proactive mindset, with the flexibility to adapt in a fast-paced kitchen environment
- A desire to contribute meaningfully to the launch of a new venue and build something exceptional from the beginning
