The Role

We are seeking an experienced and motivated Sous Chef to join the pre-opening team at Golden Avenue, our new Middle Eastern concept. In this hands-on leadership role, you will support the Head Chef in overseeing day-to-day kitchen operations, managing service, and driving consistency in food quality and presentation. You will play a key role in mentoring junior chefs, improving kitchen procedures, and contributing to a strong and respectful kitchen culture. The ideal candidate will bring a calm, professional approach and a passion for delivering high-quality dining experiences.

• Experience as a Sous Chef or Senior Chef de Partie within high-volume or multi-section kitchens
• Experience working in larger kitchen brigades with structured operations and service flows
• Familiarity with Levantine or Middle Eastern cuisine is highly regarded
• Strong leadership skills with the ability to guide, train, and support a team during both prep and service
• Clear communication style and collaborative approach to working with the front of house team
• Excellent standards in food quality, portioning, and presentation
• Good understanding of inventory management, ordering, and maintaining cost control
• A positive and proactive mindset, with the flexibility to adapt in a fast-paced kitchen environment
• A desire to contribute meaningfully to the launch of a new venue and build something exceptional from the beginning
